Quality care is of the utmost importance to us at our care agency in Traverse City, MI. That is why we make it a priority to ensure our staff is the best of the best. Every member of our team is professional and well trained to provide in home health care services and private duty nursing to a variety of clients with varying needs. As part of our hiring process, we conduct a thorough screening and interview to identify the best care providers, and only those who pass this process go on to complete our extensive training to deliver our special brand of care and become care providers themselves. Our training includes best practices developed over decades of delivering care to those across the country and around the world. We hold all of our staff, locally and internationally, to the same high standards.

What truly sets our people apart, though, is their natural gift for caring for others. Our care aides truly care about their clients and go above and beyond to make sure their in home health care services needs are met and that each client is comfortable and well cared for. All care providers pass extensive background checks and complete continuing education before entering our clients’ homes to provide care services. Carrie Brown

Quality Assurance Manager

Carrie has been with Comfort Keepers since August of 2012 and is currently in the position of Client Care Coordinator. She received her Bachelors in Social Work from Hope College and has been employed with companies such as Northwestern Bank and Grand Traverse Pie Company. She enjoys meeting and learning the needs of both our staff as well as our clients. Listening to some of the incredible stories that others have to share is such a rewarding part of the job; Carrie loves learning something new every day.

Bethany Ostlund

Care Manager

Bethany is responsible for insuring that Comfort Keepers consistently maintains high standards and delivers quality care. She supervises all aspects of client care, including client scheduling, care plans and supervision, nursing and caregiving. She also teaches arthritis self-help workshops at various locations throughout the region. Bethany is a graduate of Central Michigan University where she majored in Elementary Education. A lifelong resident of the Old Mission Peninsula, Bethany loves kayaking, hiking, and getting out in our beautiful northern Michigan environment whenever she can. She also enjoys hanging out with her three brothers and Sophie, her three year old basset hound.

Diana Colbath

Delegated Service Aide/ Supervisor Quality Care Coach/ CPR Instructor

Diana has been with Comfort Keepers for over 5 years. She took her original Nurse’s Aide training at the age of 17 while still in high school. She worked weekends until she graduated then full time after that. For a year Diana worked midnights in a small hospital ER in Indiana, then back to Grand Rapids and nursing homes there. She took some time off and worked other jobs before going to Meadowbrook around 1993. In 2008 Diana started at CK part time, loved the company and job so much that she gave up her full time printing job to go full time with CK. She has never regretted making that change.

Diana enjoys making a difference in people’s lives and that she can help our seniors stay home and be safe, and give their loved ones/families peace of mind. She loves the smiles and hugs when she walks into clients doors. The supervisory part of her job is what she enjoys as well. She really enjoys knowing that she is helping our caregivers to be the best that they can be. She is excellent at teaching them new ways to do their jobs and enjoys watching our caregivers grow. 
Janice Vipond

Client Services Manager

Janice works closely with clients to determine their needs and keep abreast of changes in their conditions. She develops senior care plans, communicates with caregivers and clients and conducts regular client reassessments to ensure that we are meeting their needs and providing them with the highest level of quality of life. Janice worked for Comfort Keepers for two years before moving to Maryland with her husband and daughter. Upon moving back to her hometown of Traverse City, she returned to work for Comfort Keepers.

Teresa Ellis

Scheduling

Teresa has been with CK since the spring of 2013. She is currently in the scheduling department.  She works mostly as the weekend on-call scheduler, but you might also speak with her during regular business hours when she fills in during the week. She received her Associates Degree from North Central Michigan College in 2009 and is currently pursuing her Bachelor's Degree. Teresa has over nine years of human resource and scheduling experience. She enjoys working with Comfort Keepers because this company makes a difference in the lives of many people and our work matters to so many.

Amy Scott

Payroll & Billing Administrator

Amy Scott started working with Comfort Keepers in 2013, but has worked with the Knopps for over twenty years, and helped with special projects at Comfort Keepers since opening in 2005. She is currently the Administrator and her main functions are processing payroll and billing clients, insurances and agencies. She studied business and accounting at Northwestern Michigan College. With her husband being in the US Coast Guard, she has moved all over the United States, holding a variety of positions. Amy brings a unique background and base of knowledge to her position. Amy appreciates being part of such an incredible company and working with so many wonderful people. She most enjoys being able to work behind the scenes to ensure that things run smoothly for clients and caregivers enabling caregivers to focus on doing what they do best…providing quality, caring service.

Client Care Coordinator

Melanie has previously represented Comfort Keepers as a Community Sales & Marketing Representative which involved participating in organizations such as the Twilight Rotary Club, Bay Area Senior Advocates and a past Chairperson for the Memory Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Traverse City and has once again recently joined our team. She is currently working towards receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Melanie brings over 5 years’ experience working in the healthcare field and helping seniors. Melanie enjoys spending quality family time with her two daughters, Kayla and Sarah along with her extended family. She has fun doing any activities in nature; running, hiking and kayaking.
